Sheffield Housing Company unveils its first showhome development
SHC will unveil the first of 116 homes at Cutler's View, on the Norfolk Park site off Park Spring Drive in Sheffield. The opening of its first showhome, which also includes a One Direction bedroom theme, is a landmark milestone for SHC which plans to build 2,300 new homes across the city over the next 15 years.
The first phase of the scheme, which is being developed by housing and regeneration specialist Keepmoat, will deliver 305 homes at Norfolk Park, helping to rejuvenate the local area. In addition, work has also started on the development of 142 homes at Brearley Forge, with a further 47 homes also being built in Shirecliffe. All three schemes will bring much needed new housing to the area and help stimulate the local economy with labour initiatives, training schemes and support for small, medium and community enterprises.
Cutler's View provides buyers with 12 different house types to choose from including a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes, making it ideal for first time buyers, professionals and families. Prices range from £83,196 on the Help to Buy scheme for a two bedroom Foxhill to £151,996 on the Help to Buy scheme for a four bedroom Fullwood.
Help to Buy is the Government's financial assistance scheme offering buyers who have saved a 5% deposit the chance to take advantage of a five-year interest free loan covering 20% of the value of the property. The remaining 75% of the property's value will be funded through a mortgage, which Keepmoat can help buyers to arrange.
The three bedroom Loxley showhomeoffers elegant accommodation for growing families. The ground floor contains a combined kitchen/diner, which is great for dinner parties; a light, airy lounge with patio doors leading onto the rear garden, and a WC. Upstairs are three good sized bedrooms, and a family bathroom with contemporary suite. The high quality, sustainable and energy efficient homes have been architecturally designed to the highest standard and are light and spacious, with private gardens and parking.
A wide range of eco technology has also been used in designing the homes, which are being built to the Government's Code for Sustainable Homes levels 3 and 6. They will achieve BREEAM ‘very good standard' status (the world's leading design and assessment method for sustainable buildings).
Vanessa Burling, Keepmoat New Build Sales Director in Yorkshire, said: “As a key partner for the Sheffield Housing Company, we are pleased to unveil the first showhome on this exciting new development. There has been a lot of interest in these properties with buyers already reserving plots off plan. Cutler's View is in an excellent location with the M1 and M18 motorways within easy reach of the development. The Meadowhall shopping centre is less than five miles away and there is a good selection of schools nearby.”
Cllr Harry Harpham, Sheffield City Council Cabinet Member for Homes and Neighbourhoods, added: “After all the planning and preparation it is great to see these new homes finally built for the people of the city to see. I am sure that they will be impressed by the quality, style and value that is being provided.”
