Get a glimpse of Sheffield’s future

SHC’s drive to regenerate key areas of the city continues with new plans to develop further housing in Norfolk Park and Manor.

As part of the plans SHC is hosting two events - to be held in Norfolk Park and Manor next week - where proposals for 356 modern, energy efficient homes will be on display

The first event will be at the SHC site office, Frank Wright Close, Norfolk Park (S2 3RE) between 15:00 and 19:00 on Tuesday 22 March and the second at The Parish Hall, St. Theresa's Church, Queen Mary Road, Manor (S2 1EY) on Thursday 24 March, between 12:00 and 14:00 and then 15:30 till 19:00.

The event at Norfolk Park provides an opportunity for people to view and comment on proposals for 77 three and four bedroomed detached homes on the site of the former East Hill School. 

A planning application has yet to be submitted for this development, which would comprise 58 homes for private rent - through the private rented sector (PRS) and regeneration specialist, Sigma – and 19 for sale.

SHC signed an agreement with Sigma last year to develop homes for private rent across the city. 

The event also provides another opportunity to view the previously approved plan to construct 24 two bedroomed apartments – six of them for those with mobility issues – on the site of the former Park Grange Residential Home. 

The event at Manor will provide an opportunity for people to view and comment on pre-planning proposals, including site plans and house designs, for approximately 250 three and four bedroomed homes – an initial phase of 79 for private rent through Sigma and 93 for sale by Sheffield Housing Company - to be built on land on Queen Mary Road, at Manor Top. 

SHC has already completed 261 homes for sale and affordable rent with the support of partners Sheffield City Council, housing provider Great Places and developer Keepmoat, which builds and sells the homes on behalf of the company.  By 2030 this joint venture aims to create 2,300 homes in seven areas of the city.

In addition it is providing jobs, training and investment to kick start local economic growth.  Work is already underway on phase 2 which will deliver 122 family homes off Falstaff Road in Parson Cross, 59 larger than average, two to six bedroomed homes on land adjacent to Fir Vale School Playing Fields, 83 houses and nine apartments on an area between Park Grange Road and Beeches Drive in Norfolk Park and 181 homes in Harborough Avenue, Manor.
